Full-time or part-time position

Power Engineer (Engineering)

We are seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Power Engineer to join our team. If you have a keen interest in power systems and non-fossil fuels and a passion for designing and optimizing power systems with a focus on innovative solutions like nuclear and solar energy, we invite you to contribute to our project. Join our team in creating a closed loop and efficient power infrastructure in space and be a key player in advancing sustainable energy solutions for the future of space exploration!

Key Responsibilities:

Specialize in power systems: Your main responsibility lies in working on the storage, distribution and production systems of power, instigating them in a closed loop into the habitat to prevent energy waste. You will be focusing on designing and optimizing systems using non-fossil fuels, including nuclear and solar energy.

Conduct research: By understanding and researching the impact of solar particle events on electronics within the habitat, you will be mapping out measures to safeguard against potential disruptions.

Close Collaboration: Collaborate in an interdisciplinary environment to meet the power requirements of the space habitat, including the production and assembly phases, as well as ongoing operational needs.

Meeting Attendance: Attend weekly department meetings to discuss progress, concepts, challenges, opportunities for improvement, and innovations within the engineering team to ensure a final integrated design.
