Full-time or part-time position

Structural Engineer (Engineering)

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Structural Engineer to join our team. If you have a passion for designing structures, including pneumatic, prefab, and modular constructions, with expertise in low gravity and vacuum conditions, and an enthusiasm for exploring new construction methods such as 3D printing, and a keen interest in exploring and implementing new technologies in structural design, we invite you to become a part of our team!

Key Responsibilities:

Specialization in Structures: You will focus on diverse structures, including pneumatic, prefab, and modular designs, tailored for low gravity and vacuum environments. Additionally, you can explore and develop new construction methods, including cutting-edge techniques such as 3D printing, to advance the field of space-based structural engineering.

Structure Assembly: You will be tasked with the assembly planning of structures, employing a mix of in situ utilization techniques to enhance sustainability in space construction projects. For this, you can utilize CAD tools and modeling techniques to design structures, considering loads, stress, and material properties to ensure structural integrity.

Close Collaboration: With your expertise in structural engineering, with a focus on designing various structures suitable for space environments, you will be providing information to the other engineers and their respective subsystems within your department and the architecture department. By providing your team members with critical information regarding structures, you will enable them to integrate their respective subsystems and designs into the structure.

Meeting Attendance: Attend weekly department meetings to discuss progress, concepts, challenges, opportunities for improvement, and innovations within the engineering team to ensure a final integrated design.
